However, long before that, Alex had been breaking records and ensuring he be the one to watch. Alex originally competed in men’s aerials and at age 14, he was the youngest athlete to perform a triple jump. In 2004, Alex decided to pursue a career in moguls instead. Two years later, Alex competed in his first Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006 and placed 11th overall. He also became the youngest athlete in history to win a World Cup moguls event securing a second place overall World Cup standing and the FIS Rookie of the year title.
In 2009, Alex clinched the 2009 overall moguls title by winning 4 straight World Cup events.
