PROPRIETARY PROCESS. PROVEN RESULTS
Internationally recognized with patents issued and pending worldwide – Chemical and Biological FingerPrinting – is a major scientific breakthrough in the discovery and standardization of natural health products. The technology behind our ChemBioPrint products provides distinctive and meaningful standardization within the natural health product industry.

For many multi-component natural health products the identity of each specific active component is not known. In order to have reproducible therapeutic effects, it is important to characterize the full chemical profile of each lot. Biological testing is also necessary to provide further assurance of consistent efficacy in the face of any potentially undetectable chemical variances. For complex multi-component natural health products, standardization is made possible by ChemBioPrint.

Development of ChemBioPrint began at the University of Alberta by an eminent team of scientists along with international academic collaborators. The science behind ChemBioPrint has been in development for over 12 years and was supported in part by government-funded grants.

ChemBioPrint multi-component natural health products are characterized and developed through:

chemical quantification of the active components (‘chemical fingerprinting’)
    biological
testing on the relevant system (‘biological fingerprinting’)
a precise and reproducible manufacturing process

As part of the quality control system and in accordance with the new regulations for natural health products, each lot of CVT-E002 (COLD-FX®) is subjected to a variety of chemical and immunological tests, in addition to other important quality parameters such as pesticide, microbial, and heavy metal content. Only lots meeting the tight specifications known to result in clinical safety and efficacy are released for sale.

ChemBioPrint signifies a proprietary process that is able to reliably characterize specific mixtures and standardize complex multiple components of natural substances. This technology made possible the discovery of the proprietary and unique combination of polysaccharides and oligosaccharides derived from Panax quinquefolius (North American ginseng) that comprise CVT-E002 (COLD-FX).

Chemical fingerprinting
Is the identification and “print” of the active chemical components of CVT-E002 (COLD-FX) that boost the immune system.
Biological fingerprinting
Assures the pharmacological effect of the components of CVT-E002 (COLD-FX) on the immune system, which includes macrophage and Natural Killer cell activities, and antibody and cytokine production, through a series of laboratory evaluations.
Precision Manufacturing
The quality assurance of precise manufacturing leads to measurable chemical and biological consistency from batch to batch.

The consistent level of chemical and biological activity achieved in CVT-E002 opened the door for meaningful scientific study of this compound. Subsequently, CVT-E002 has been the subject of a number of research investigations. These initially involved laboratory studies followed by case series’ in athletes. A pilot randomized controlled trial was also conducted in immunocompetent community dwelling seniors demonstrating a reduction in the incidence and duration of respiratory symptoms late in the flu season. The positive and encouraging results of this research led to further clinical research in healthy adults and seniors.
