At the age of 15, Paul Rosen's dream of becoming a professional hockey player shattered when he broke his leg in 14 places during a game in the Midget AAA league. After countless surgeries attempting to repair the damage, his right leg was amputated in 1999.
Within one year of his amputation, Paul mastered ice sledge hockey and joined the ranks of the Canadian National Sledge Hockey team. In 2002 he became the oldest rookie in the history of the sport, playing for Team Canada at the Salt Lake City 2002 Paralympic Winter Games. Still a leader for the top-ranked National Sledge Hockey Team in 2009, Paul Rosen is currently ranked as the number one ice sledge hockey goaltender in the world.
